Tripindi Shradha is a contribution to the memory of a person’s close ones. Tripindi Shradha means Pind (rice balls) daan of the last three generations who have passed away. Tripindi shradha is also called pitru dosh. If at all shradha rituals have not been made for the previous three generations of the departed souls, it is believed that they get agitated, and in order to appease them, Tripindi Shradha is performed. Tripindi Shradha Pooja is performed with the offerings assembled at the holy feet of Lord Vishnu. Scriptures advise devotees to perform the Tripindi Shradha ritual to be performed only at Teerth Kshetras. Of all Teerth Kshetras, Gokarna is a special one with historic significance.
