Description

Dhanvantari appears during Samudra Manthan, the great churning of the ocean, holding amritha (life-giving elixir). He is mentioned as the God of Ayurveda in the puranas. Devotees worship Dhanvantari to seek His blessings for good health. The Homa is performed to Lord Dhanvantari. He is invoked in the kalash and ahutis are offered to him through the sacred fire. Dhanvantari Puja is performed to attain health, wealth and success by invoking the blessing of Lord Dhanvantari.
